We will explore breathing and relaxation techniques, supported postures, and guided meditation as tools to cope with stress and anxiety. YOGA & THE CHAKRAS Learn about the chakra energy system and flow in the body. Experience different asanas, breathing techniques and sounding that may help to open and balance these energy centers along the spine thus promoting health and well-being. YOGA FOR CHILDBIRTH This workshop is a wonderful way to prepare both you and your birth partner for the journey ahead. The workshop will provide a holistic approach to breathing, toning, partner-assisted yoga postures, relaxing & supportive massage and meditation practices to help with labour. Birth partners will learn valuable tools to assist their loved one through pregnancy and childbirth. Most important of all, it will be a fun and loving time to bond with each other and your unborn baby. Yoga creates greater awareness and flexibility, enhances pregnancy, optimizes health, and prepares you for the birth experience. Recommended for second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

BACKBENDS APRIL 10 SATURDAY 2:00 - 4:00 PM $25 This workshop is a wonderful way to open the hips and shoulders and inspire your body to rediscover freedom and ease.All levels of students are welcome and we will focus on elongation of the spine and safely moving into backbends.

THE INTUITIVE YOGA OF DIANE LONG AND THE TEACHING OF VANDA SCARAVELLI
Diane Long has been developing and refining yoga for most of her life. She was a devoted student of Vanda Scaravelli for 23 years. This meeting with Vanda introduced her to a new form of consciousness in the study of yoga and body/mind awareness. At Vanda's urging, Diane began teaching in the late 70's in Italy and later in Canada, England and the United States.
The intuitive yoga of Diane Long is a progressive physical practice with the intention of leading one to the vital core, the spine, and is based on the concept that the spine divides at the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae. It is here that strength grows into lightness. The base of the position is where one is rested and anchored into the earth. Refining the awareness opens the vision to wholeness and harmony, guided by this intention and concept. This becomes a way of being, a form of meditation, which allows for new sensation and a different approach to asana.

SPRING YOGA RETREAT at Swallow's Bridge Alton, Ont.

This weekend is designed for you to rest, to be still, to nurture, and replenish yourself away from all the commitments of daily life. The beautiful rural setting offers a spacious light-filled studio, comfortable lodgings, and delicious vegetarian meals. All levels of yoga experience are welcome.
