JANUARY WORKSHOPS

INTEGRATING THE PELVIS & HIPS                  with the Spine above and the Legs Below

This longer workshop provides the opportunity to establish new patterns of movement and awareness within the context of your yoga practice.  Students will explore the relationship ofthe pelvic half to thigh bone and sacrum to spine.  Learn the effects of counter movements on the sacroiliac and pubic joints.  Appropriate for all students,  including those with sacroiliac hip or low back concerns.

KID'S YOGA WORKSHOP

SUNDAY JANUARY 22ND  10 AM -11 AM

Yoga can help develop strength, flexibility, balance, and a positive sense of self. Lisa facilitates a fun-filled morning of yoga poses, breathing exercises, partner yoga, relaxation techniques and games using the yoga poses and principles. This workshop is recommended for ages 6-12. Also February 12 and March 4th.

FEBRUARY CLEANSE

Finding Balance with Wise Effort                                                                   SUNDAYS : FEBRUARY 5, 12, 19, & 26th  9:30- 11:00am   
Here's a way to help bring you and your practice into balance.

This February join me in a 28 day cleanse. We will look at what in our lives has drifted to extremes and make the intention to bring them back into balance with "wise effort".  We will primarily be focusing on diet, using the guidelines from Dr Joshi's book *Dr. Joshi's* *Holistic Detox*; and yoga, stretching, breathing, and meditating to re-establish a connection between body, heart, and mind. 

Our Sundays together will be a time to practice and to check in and encourage each other. You can choose the length of your cleanse; one to four weeks, to suit your needs.  $56 for all 4  +hst = $63       $19 for  drop- ins

 

 

 

 

EMOTIONAL YOGA

Yoga provides us with an incredible framework for experiencing, exploring and releasing emotions. In this workshop we will focus on awareness of our emotions and how they manifest in the body and mind.  This heightened awareness often opens the door for positive changes in our emotional life. Yoga for Better Bones: Part 1

Saturday  February 18th (also Mar 3rd) 2:00 - 4:30pm with Jayelle

This 2-part workshop has been designed to give anyone with osteoporosis or osteopenia a yoga practice that is both strengthening and safe. Participants will learn how to avoid positions that could make them vulnerable to fracture, and how to improve their flexibility, strength and balance. No previous knowledge of yoga is required. This workshop will be approximately 2/3 movement and 1/3 lecture. Taught by a registered physiotherapist with a special interest in osteoporosis. $45 or $80 for both

 

DEVELOPING A HOME PRACTICE
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12th   2-4pm  $25+hst =$28

A home yoga practice is a way of deeply connecting to ourselves. In this workshop we will look at sequencing of yoga poses and ways to develop or sustain a home practice. We will discuss the challenges that keep us from our mats and ways to inspire ourselves and face our resistance.  All levels welcome. With Lisa.

CHAKRA YOGA
SUNDAY MARCH 4th   2:00-5:00pm  with Lisa. $35 + hst = $40
Opening the chakras with our yoga practice is a way to bring 
more balance and ease into our lives. We will explore the 
seven main energy centers of the body using yoga poses, 
breathing exercises, sounding, and meditation. Improving 
the flow of energy through the chakras will leave you feeling 
more joyful and energized. For anyone who wishes to deepen
 their yoga practice and explore the inner body.
 

INTEGRATING THE NECK & SHOULDERS
SUNDAY MARCH 11th     10 AM- 1 PM    

Discover new patterns of movement in this three hour long workshop . Students will explore the connections between the collar bones and shoulder blades, between the base of the skull and the vertebrae below it. Release old patterns of tension and chronic pain with micromovements guided from inner awareness.

Suitable for all levels of student including those with chronic headache, neck or shoulder pain.

YOGA FOR THE LOW BACK
SUNDAY MARCH 18TH   Time 2-4pm   Cost $25 + hst = $28

Learn to develop a strong support system for your lower back by discovering the pelvic floor and deep abdominals.  Simple focused exercises taken from both Yoga and Pilates will develop strength, flexibility and awareness of this amazing keystone of the body.

INSIDE OUTSIDE, UPSIDE DOWN: INVERSIONS!

Sunday March 25th    9:30-11:30am   $25+ hst = $28

Find your inner alignment and its relationship to the outward  
force of gravity in inversions. We will be focusing on
 building a safe and dependable foundation in headstand 
and handstand by strengthening and releasing the wrists,

YOGA FOR CHILDBIRTH
SUNDAY MARCH 25th   6:00-8:00 PM     $28per person/$45 per couple (includes hst)

This workshop is a wonderful way to prepare both you and your birth partner for the journey ahead. The workshop will provide a holistic approach to breathing, toning, partner-assisted yoga postures, relaxing & supportive massage and meditation practices to help with labour.  Birth partners will learn valuable tools to assist their loved one through pregnancy and childbirth. Most important of all, it will be a fun and loving time to bond with each other and your unborn baby.  Yoga creates greater awareness and flexibility, enhances pregnancy, optimizes health, and prepares you for the birth experience.
