2011-2012

Beginning in the spring, Living Yoga & Health is pleased to be offering a series of 10 full weekend workshops designed for those wanting to learn more about the practice and application of yoga. This series will have a strong emphasis on body awareness, functional anatomy, and self-exploration. Participants will benefit form the skillful teaching of three dedicated teachers - Jayelle Lindsay brings her background in physiotherapy, Lisa Silverstein her diverse background with both Kripalu and Esther Myers certifications and Jacqueline Gilbey her strong background in meditation and sutra exploration.
Those who wish to receive a teaching certificate will be required to
- Complete an application form
- Participate in all 10 modules (or equivalent) including the required assignments
- Attend the required classes for apprenticeship experience
The curriculum includes:
- Principles of yoga practice
- Ethical guidelines and lifestyle
- Anatomy of movement
- Teaching and practise of asana, pranayama, relaxation, and meditation
- Philosophy and history
- Teaching skills and methodology
The theme of each weekend, as well as the dates, times, and costs are listed below. Please note that the first 3 workshops are Sat and Sun only. The remaining 7 workshops include Friday night and Sun afternoon.

Please note that tuition does not include the cost of personal yoga classes or books.
Payments may also be made on a workshop by workshop basis, space permitting. Class size is limited. Please register in advance when possible.

• your ongoing exploration as a yoga student
• your awareness of common concerns and challenges that students bring with them to class
• your willingness to grow as your path unfolds before you
Pre-requisites and Admission Requirements:
(Requirements may be waived or modified for participants who do not intend to teach or receive a teaching certificate)
• Practising yoga for a minimum of 2 years
• Daily practice
• 6 classes with one of the faculty
• completion of the application form
• $50 non-refundable application fee
Course Requirements:
• 100% course attendance Missed classes may be made up in a following training. Please call for details.
• completion of all homework assignments
• Students will be responsible for the cost of all reading materials and the cost of classes. (Students are required to attend one class a week during the YTT period for their own practice and after December to attend an additional weekly class as an apprentice.)
